We have excellent outpatient treatment for all types of substance abuse situations and problems that arise when suffering from drug and alcohol addiction including 12 hour OWI classes and OWI 48 hour weekend classes, in a comfortable setting to satisfy your OWI obligations to the court, in addition to alcohol counseling.
If you must be in compliance with a court order, and you are required to attend the OWI 12 hour class or the weekend classes, Self-Awareness will provide that class. The purpose of this class is to satisfy your OWI obligations to the court without going to jail, while providing you with information to encourage low-risk choices. Group counseling sessions capitalizes on the social reinforcement which is afforded to the client through positive peer discussion. When group therapy is combined with individualized drug counseling, positive outcomes are achieved.
Individualized drug counseling focuses on reducing or stopping illicit drug or alcohol useage, emphasizing on short-term behavioral goals. Individualized counseling helps the patient develop coping strategies and tools to abstain from drug use and maintain abstinence. The addiction counselor encourages 12-step participation (at least one or two times per week) and makes referrals for needed supplemental medical, psychiatric, and other services.
EOP consist of individual and group sessions that use various curriculum's to explore early recovery skills to help prevent relapse situations with a family education component. Topics include triggers, thought stopping, boredom, trust, stress reduction, emotional health, and compulsive behaviors. Counselors explore with individuals the possible changes to make to reduce or eliminate further problems and how to maintain those changes after leaving treatment. Extended Outpatient Program (EOP) consist of 2 to 3 hours a week which may include one hour of group depending on the needs of the client.
Continuing care promotes the gains made during initial treatment for alcohol and drug dependence and increases an individuals chances of long term abstinence. Most relapses occur in the first six months following treatment. Self-Awareness, Continuing Care Program is one hour a week, for 12 weeks. The program provides support, education, and coping skills through group counseling sessions or individual counseling, depending on the needs of the client during this critical period.
